How often should commercial catering equipment be serviced?

Planned servicing costs less than emergency call-outs and keeps you trading. This is a simple guide for a typical busy kitchen.

Gas appliances

Commercial gas appliances should have a gas safety inspection at least once a year, with a gas safety certificate (CP42) for your records, insurer and landlord.

Refrigeration

Clean condensers every 3 to 6 months, more often in greasy kitchens. Check door seals and temperatures as part of every visit.

Combi ovens

Follow the oven’s descaling or care programme, and have a full service at least once a year. Hard water means more frequent descaling.

Dishwashers and glasswashers

Check softeners, dosing pumps and elements regularly. Scale is the main cause of breakdowns in Essex.

Gas interlocks and extraction

Test the interlock and emergency stops as part of the annual gas safety check.

Ask us for a plan

We can set up planned servicing for one kitchen or a group of sites, booked at times that suit your service.
